Walter French is an adaptive reutilization of a vacant junior high school in Lansing listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The revitalization effort is led by Capital Area Housing Partnership, a local nonprofit building quality, affordable housing opportunities paired with supportive programs and services in mid-Michigan. The project will create critical affordable housing and child care options for income-constrained residents. The project broke ground in June 2023 and is anticipated to be fully operational by early 2025.
